Little Pals Preschool and Child Care

Little Pals Preschool and Child Care opens at 7:30AM and closes at 5:30PM, Monday through Friday. When parents choose to enroll their child(ren) at Little Pals, they have 2 options for care: full time or part time. Part time care is provided for children who need care 1, 2, 3 or 4 days a week.  Hourly care is not available, meaning if a child is here a few hours, the charge will still be made for the full day.  Fees are payable in advance; payments are expected before service is provided, not after. If, for any reason, a parent plans to have their child miss one or more days, full payment for the week is still required. The weekly fee does not change if a child is picked up early or dropped off late.

However, if a child is seriously ill and must be away from Little Pals for a significant number of days, individual arrangements can be made.

FEES

The weekly charge is based on the age of the child.  The highest cost is for infants through 2 years.  The cost decreases when a child is between 2 and 3 years; it decreases again when a child is between 3 and 4 years and again when a child is between 4 and 5 years.  However, if a child is 3 and older and is still in the process of learning to use the toilet then the weekly cost will be somewhat higher. When I determine that a child is able to clearly communicate her/his need to use the toilet most of the time, then the rate will be reduced.

Full time care, Monday - Friday, based on the age of the child:

6 weeks - child's second birthday (2 years): $275 per week,

2 years - 3 years:   $240 per week,

3 years - 4 years:   $205 per week,

4 years - 5 years:   $180 per week.

Part time care (beginning in 2015, there is a slight increase in the costs for part time care; a supply fee will be included in the daily charge, meaning no separate charge will be made for a monthly supply fee)

6 weeks - child's second birthday (2 years):   $68 per day,

2 years - 3 years:   $60 per day,

3 years - 4 years:   $53 per day,

4 years - 5 years:   $48 per day 

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is provided to and from one school only: Laurel Creek Elementary School on Evergreen Drive, in Fairfield.

SUBSIDIZED CARE

Little Pals accepts subsidized child care payments from Solano Family and Children's Services. However, because the rate paid by SFCS is less than the fees charged by Little Pals, the family is expected to pay the difference, along with the monthly supply fee.

WEEK-END CARE

Regular week-end care is not offered; however, if a parent needs occasional care on a week-end, or in the evening, arrangements may be possible. An hourly rate for service will be charged.

ADDITIONAL FEES

1. Monthly supply fee: Little Pals provides diapers, wipes, formula, special dietary foods, toothbrushes, toddler toothpaste (safe if swallowed), suntan lotion, arts and crafts supplies and virtually any other thing a child may need during the day. In order to supply such items, there is a nominal, monthly "supply" fee of $40 - $70, depending on the child's age. This amount is due on the last Friday of each month, for supplies to be used in the following month. If a child is enrolled between the first and the fifteenth of the month, the entire supply fee is due; if a child is enrolled after the fifteenth of the month, then the amount due will be determined by the number of days the child is here that first month.

2. When a child is no longer using diapers and wipes, as determined by Ms. Lucy, the monthly supply fee will be decreased to $10.  This payment will cover the cost of toothbrushes, toothpaste, art supplies, suntan lotion, etc.

3. Late fees: For every 5 minutes a parent is late, a fee of $5 is charged, payable on the day it is incurred.

4. Returned checks: There is a charge of $35, plus any bank fees Little Pals incurs, if a check is returned; this amount is payable in cash or money order.

HOLIDAYS AND OTHER CLOSED DAYS 2015

Little Pals is closed on six major holidays:

1.) New Year's Day, 1/1/15 (Thursday),

2.) Memorial Day, 5/25/14 (Monday),

3.) Independence Day, 7/4/14 (Saturday - holiday will be taken on Friday, July 3),

4.) Labor Day, 9/7/14 (Monday),

5.) Thanksgiving, 11/26/14 (Thursday) and

6.) Christmas Day, 12/25/14 (Friday).

In addition to these holidays, Little Pals is closed on these days for vacation:

Monday, March 30th - Wednesday, April 1st, (3 days),

Thursday, May 29th - Friday, June 5th, (6 days), 

Tuesday, September 8th - Friday, September 11th (4 days) and

Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27 (2 days)

 If a child is scheduled to come on a closed day, payment for that day is expected.

Little Pals may be closed up to 2 additional days.  These are not scheduled at the beginning of the year because they are used for things that come up unexpectedly.  Parents will be given as much notice as possible.
